The port area at Costa Maya is pretty great, but a short taxi ride will get you to a decent beach Hi cruisers! I'm hoping to get some insight from those of you who have sailed to Cozumel and Costa Maya CM also has Lake Bacalar, which offers water activities, but the village of Mahahual tends to have a lot of seaweed unless you get a day pass for a resort that cleans the beach.

Costa Maya has pretty limited excursion choices in my opinion (ruins excursion, mayan experience, expensive but large water park at the dock) Costa Maya is like a "Caribbean Mexico Theme Park" when you disembark into the port, which I'm not really into, but we've done Maya Chan both times we've been there and highly recommend it
